The Greek government engaged in a war of words with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on 29 June as relations between the two sides continued to deterioriate. The Greek government's spokesman, Gavriel Sakellaridis, voiced doubts about Juncker's "sincerity“ in reaction to the Commission president's declaration about the breakdown of negotiations between Athens and its lenders. Juncker wants to "reverse" the SYRIZA-led government, the party's MEP and European Parliament Vice-President Dimitris Papdimoulis wrote in a tweet.
