Anca Gurzu
Anca is the Managing Editor for EU Politics, helping build out Contexte's international expansion.
Anca has been covering EU politics and policy in Brussels for over 12 years, with a focus on energy and climate issues. During this time, she has not only learned the intricacies of the EU machinery, but also how to identify and translate seemingly technical issues into big-stakes stories with Europe-wide and international implications.
Before joining Contexte, Anca was Chief Europe Correspondent at Cipher News, a publication focused on climate solutions, where she steered the European coverage for almost four years. Prior to this, she spent five years covering the energy transition for POLITICO Europe in Brussels.
In 2021, she completed a fellowship in business journalism at the University of Chicago, specializing in leadership and negotiation skills. Anca holds a Master’s degree in European, Russian and Eurasian studies from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the same university.
