The EU is continuing to observe the situation in Ukraine while stepping up the preparation of potential sanctions, diplomatic sources said, on 1 July. The permanent representatives of the member states (Coreper) met on 1 July, when the unilateral ceasefire announced by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had expired.
