The EU decided, on 1 July, to lift import restrictions on sunflower oil from Ukraine that have been in place since 2008. A decision to this end was taken by the standing committee after tests carried out at EU borders have revealed no further contamination of consignments of sunflower oil from Ukraine with mineral paraffin.
