On 29 November, the European Commission announced that the regulation exempting certain categories of state aid from prior Commission scrutiny (the general block exemption regulation, GBER) would be prolonged. The current regulation ? adopted in July 2008 ? is under revision. As the current regime is due to expire at the end of 2013, the Commission extended it until 30 June 2014.
