Iskra Mihaylova to chair REGI committee

A newcomer to the European Parliament, Bulgarian national Iskra Mihaylova (ALDE) has been elected chair of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI). A member of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the principal political party representing the Turkish minority in Bulgaria, Mihaylova, aged 57, was Bulgaria's environment minister since May 2013.
