According to a report published on 12 June by the European Environment Agency (EEA), for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, none of the EU member states managed to respect the limit values laid down in Directive 2001/81/EC setting national emissions ceilings (NEC) for nitrogen oxides (NOx), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and ammonia (NH3).
