Isabelle Smets
Reporter, Energy & Transport
After graduating with a degree in Journalism and Communication from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), I then specialised in European Politics at the European Studies Institute at ULB (IEE-ULB). I stayed there for a further four years researching representation and local and regional authorities at the European level. I joined the Europolitics editorial team, where I covered transport and the European Union's cohesion policy for 15 years. I started collaborating with Contexte at the end of 2015 as an independent journalist, mainly on transport policy, before joining the editorial team in January 2021.
