Reponsible for editorial innovation

At Contexte, I am responsible for editorial innovation: I mainly create interactive infographics, like the European elections results, a snapshot of 577 French members of parliament or a snapshot of 74 French Members of the European Parliament. I am also involved in uploading content online and promoting it on social media. I also design tools that are used in-house to make life easier for journalists.

Before joining the team in 2019, I accompanied several French-language media outlets (including Contexte) with their digital projects. I also like to add my two cents’ worth to ongoing debates on the evolution of journalism and the media: I publish blog posts, conference reports, tutorials and other experiences on my website, Dans mon labo.

Since I began my career in 2001, I've worked almost as long in print media as I have online. Former deputy editor-in-chief at Rue89, I also spent time at traditional media outlets like Libération or Télérama and many other magazines and newspapers.

In 2007, when I switched to online, I discovered a new world that I immediately loved: the reader was no longer a distant stranger but part of the conversation, which became increasingly global with the rise of social media.

I gained experience in basic training, continuing education and abroad – this includes fascinating exchanges with Palestinian women bloggers, Tunisian revolutionaries and even Belarusian opponents.

And I strive to regularly add new strings to my bow, whether it is user experience (UX/UI) to design perfect interfaces, data journalism to get the figures talking, graphics to enhance the visuals, or even coding to develop all of the above.

Disclosure of interests

Other professional activities for which I have been paid or received a bonus since starting at Contexte

I give training sessions at journalism schools and continuing education centres.

Before becoming an employee at Contexte in 2019, I provided services through my company Dans mon labo, for media outlets (Contexte, but also Télérama, Courrier international, Les Jours, etc.) and training centres (ESJ-Pro, CFI, CFJ, Ina-Expert, etc.). As for my other roles, in early 2017, I worked as a UI/UX expert on a project to redesign the Union social pour l’habitat website, the organisation that represents state housing in France.
