Thomas Chemel

Reporter, Energy

After studying geology, I transitioned to journalism in 2014. After completing my first year at the Advanced Institute of Communication, Press and Audiovisual Studies in Paris, I joined the Journalist Training Centre (CFPJ) on a work-study programme with an independent editorial, where I focused on consumer, legal and tax issues. I then became responsible for the finance section of the news site Linternaute. In 2018, I joined Capital magazine’s editorial team, where I first covered real estate news before focusing on housing policy and the energy transition, online and in print. In September 2022, I became the real estate and energy section editor. I’ve been a full-time journalist in Contexte Paris’s “Énergie” section since January 2023.
