The Bulgarian government is struggling to prevent the sale of the country's biggest telecom operator Vivacom to a Luxembourg-registered private investment company. Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev announced that the government will ask the European Commission for an evaluation of the sale. Meanwhile, Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NAP) blocked the shares of Vivacom's majority owner, banker Tzvetan Vasilev, according to documents obtained by a Bulgarian internet news portal and dated 31 March.
