Except for a last-minute U-turn by MEPs, and in particular by rapporteur Nils Torvalds (ALDE, Finland), the proposal aimed at reviewing the biofuels directives should be approved by the European Parliament during its plenary session at the end of April. This, at least, is the desire of the Latvian Presidency which, like Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete, welcomes the position adopted on 1 April by the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) on this dossier.
