Increased transparency over gas contracts with non-EU countries would be a strong political tool that would help achieve a level playing field for all EU member states, the European Commission’s Vice-President for energy union, Maros Sefcovic, said in reply to questions from MEPs.
“We see locked in conditions and the price differentials that member states are paying for gas. Transparency is a very good answer for the difficult situation Europe has been in for decades,” he said.
