The European Parliament’s Committee on Energy (ITRE) voted through an amendment, on 14 April, calling for €5 billion to be ring-fenced for energy efficiency projects. It was included in a report by Kathleen Van Brempt (S&D, Belgium) on the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), which was passed by 53 votes to five, with six abstentions.
