After a seven-month break, reunification talks will reopen in Cyprus on 15 May under seemingly improved conditions. A dinner hosted on 11 May by UN Special Representative Espen Barth Eide in the Ledra Palace Hotel in Nicosia for Republic of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and the newly elected leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Mustafa Akinci, ended with the announcement that the talks aim at finding a political settlement for the divided island would resume.
