As of 1 June, the names of all farmers and agri-food producers who receive more than €1,250 per year in direct payments or funds under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) have to be made public by the member states. A decision to this end was part of the 2013 CAP reform. The new transparency rules are meant to improve access to information as well as enhance public awareness of how CAP funds are spent.
