European companies are exploring the idea of a common purchasing mechanism for buying US liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the future, Europolitics has learned.
The idea surfaced at an EU-US LNG roundtable event at the end of May, organised in cooperation with members of the European Parliament, but which was closed to the media.
The proposal is still in its infancy with many questions to be tackled, officials say, but it could be advantageous for Central and Eastern European countries…
