Regions across the European Union will be able to better coordinate their energy policies and sustainable energy investments in the future after the European Commission announced, on 26 May, the launch of the so-called European Smart Specialisation Platform on Energy.
Part of the EU’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), the platform is meant to help EU regions make better use of cohesion policy funding available for investments in renewables, energy efficiency, smart grids and other similar projects.
